I work in a group ophthalmology private practice in Youngsville , LA and I see a wide variety of eye pathologies, including dry eye.
Almost all my patients suffer from dry eyes and I noticed how post-cataract patients were coming back with fluctuation with vision due to superficial punctuate keratitis, poor tear film, etc . So in order to help these patients see better, I started treating them with a steroid drop and also started placing the Ophthalogix amniotic membrane, Eclipse. Patients started showing major improvement and it helped with their post-cataract surgical outcome too. It’s a win-win situation!
Now I treat all corneal pathologies with Eclipse before even sending them for refractive or cataract surgery.
I also do laser surgeries for glaucoma and post-cataract . Again, my protocol is to have a clear cornea in order to proceed with any surgery.
I have placed Eclipse AMT on at least six to eight patients so far and I’m so happy to see a pristine cornea on corneal staining three days after the procedure.
