Fingernail Scratch
Patient was scratched in left eye by fingernail.
Image 1 – Large central epithelial defect with loose epithelium at the edges. VA 20/200 with severe discomfort. Central corneal injury with risk of visually significant scarring.
Image 2 – Debridement was not done, Eclipse placed with BCL on top, Maxitrol drops BID with Refresh Optive Sensitive q3h w/a, 5 days later BCL removed, VA 20/40 (due to cataract) with zero discomfort. Full healing with zero scarring.
